Lieven Bulckens is a Belgian freelance filmmaker and photographer.

Together with some colleagues, he won the Belfius press prize for his work on 'Exit Belgium', an insight into Belgium's extradition policy. Bulckens was also nominated for this award for an online report on four Iranian refugees who ended up in London via Zeebrugge.

His style as a filmmaker puts people first. "I'm Still Leaving" is a documentary about Gabriel Ríos in which the Puerto Rican singer looks back on the music of his youth. For his reportage on Stephan Vanfleteren, Bulckens got a unique look into the Belgian photographer's working process in the months leading up to his most recent exhibition and book "Present".

To accompany the releases of the latest records by Novastar, Jasper Steverlinck, Gabriel Rios, Sylvie Kreusch and Geike, he made narrative mini-documents. The makers of the TV programme Belpop also used the interviews and footage in their episodes on Novastar and Gabriel Rios.
