Mathias Bienstman (1981) is Head of the Climate Cell at the Belgian Ministry of Climate, Environment and Sustainable Development.

He was previously policy officer for climate, energy and mobility at Bond Beter Leefmilieu. He was editor-in-chief of the Ghent city newspaper TiensTiens and regularly publishes on economic issues. He has a postgraduate degree in international research journalism.
