Sarah Haaij is a freelance journalist who specialises in sustainability, development aid, trade and conflict. She studied international relations. After graduating in 2009, she worked as a communication officer for the European Parliament and in the cultural and non-profit sector, among others, before turning to journalism.

Sarah works for several outlets across the world. She writes for Trouw, De Correspondent and OneWorld, among others. She is also involved in various documentary film productions.
