Thor Deyaert is a Belgian investigative journalist with an interest in the impact of science, the environment and politics on ordinary people.

During his student days, he was research editor for the student magazine Veto. He then took part in the Belgodyssee competition for young journalists with an article about women in space travel, which won him the Social Media prize.

Since then, he has been writing about agriculture, the environment and (European) agricultural policy for the trade magazine Landbouwleven. He also delves deeper into the intersection between science and policy.

He studied archaeology and obtained a master's degree in journalism from KU Leuven, combining different scientific backgrounds in his stories. He has an extensive collection of books on historical maps and is starting a collection.
