De Haan - Irem, Velten and Isabel. Photographer Yann Bertrand made portraits of them for a year in the preventorium in De Haan, at a pivotal moment in their lives. A thirty-year-old with cystic fibrosis, and two obese teenagers.

Isabel waited months for that one phone call with news about suitable donor lungs. Irem and Velten left their daily life behind to live a year healthier and sportier. Hovering between past and future, Yann Bertrand documented their transformation.
