The traditional lifestyle of the indigenous Sámi people relies on the stability and predictability of the climate in the north. Now, their reindeer find less food, and the rapidly changing weather conditions lead to more accidents and stress. At the same time, Europe is leveraging the Arctic region as one of the pillars of the green transition. Wind farms and mines on their ancestral lands make it even more difficult for the Sámi to survive.

Similarly, the Arctic fox struggles with the consequences of climate change. As a specialist, this animal is extremely well adapted to conditions that are becoming increasingly rare. With less snowfall, rising temperatures, and a growing human presence, the Arctic has seen the arrival of a new competitor: the red fox.
