OSWIECIM - Journalist Evelien Rutten goes on a road trip to Auschwitz with her teenage daughter and two aunts in this narrative podcast and book of the same name. They visit all the important places that played a crucial role in their family history.

Evelien's grandparents both ended up in concentration camps during WWII. Not because they were Jewish, but because they were linked to the Polish underground resistance. After the war, the two survivors met in a displaced persons camp in Germany. From there they moved together to Belgium, where they built a new life as a family of miners. With the help of scientists, journalists and witnesses, Evelien reconstructs her fascinating, moving and sometimes disconcerting family history, which can be traced back to her own DNA. Roadtrip to Auschwitz is an epic narrative stretching from the early twentieth century to today.

With the cooperation of Professor Herman Van Goethem, Jeroen Olyslaegers, Tom Naegels, Professor Idesbald Goddeeris, Professor Michel Georges and Professor Stephan Claes, among others.
