Anoek Nuyens (Amsterdam, 1984) makes socially engaged documentary theatre. The conversation she initiates spans different social domains and stages: from politics to science, from fact to fiction, from theatre to newspaper and internet.

From 2015 to 2021 she was one of the house makers at the Frascati Theatre in Amsterdam, where she made performances such as Hulp, Pronk, Unless you have a better plan and De zaak Shell (i.c.w. Rebekka de Wit), which were shown at home and abroad. For De zaak Shell, Anoek and Rebekka received the Director's Award 2021 and a nomination for the Dutch Theatre Festival. Jaap Spijkers also won an Arlecchino for his role as CEO in The Shell Affair.

In addition to her theatre work, Anoek also writes, including for De Correspondent, where she was nominated for the Loep for one of her series and later won the Marie Kleine-Gartman Pen for one of her essays. She recently released her new podcast series Pronk, which was named one of the best podcasts of 2021 by the NRC.

Since 2021, Anoek has had her own foundation, Stichting Bureau Vergezicht, which she runs together with managing director Lene Grooten. Previously operating under the name Stichting Documentary Theatre, on 22 December 2023 they changed the name to Bureau Vergezicht, the name of the new theatre company in which co-founders Erik Whien and Rebekka de Wit have also joined.
