Geert Sciot (Brussels) is a former journalist.

Since January 2018, Geert Sciot has been head of the communication department and spokesman of the Belgian National Bank. He graduated in communication sciences from the VUB and the Institute of Journalism. He started his career at VRT and in 1993 joined the business editorial team of De Morgen.

In 2002, he became communications director and one of the spokespersons of Brussels Airlines. He worked on the books 'De Sabena Crash' and 'Air Nostalgie', which were published a year later. In the same year, he also became vice-president of media relations for Brussels Airlines. He was also a member of the jury of the Pascal Decroos Fund and, from 2012 to 2016, he was part-time in charge of communications and marketing for the Association of European Airlines (AEA).

Since 2013, he is also Honorary Consul of the Republic of Malta.
