Sam Vanoverschelde is a director and photographer who started his career in the VJ and live AV scene with the Visual Kitchen collective, which also produced numerous music videos (Das Pop, Marc Moulin, Ultrasonic, Funkstörung, etc.).

In addition to the underground scene and established events such as 10DaysOff, MTV or TMF parties, Pukkelpop and Dourfestival, Visual Kitchen also explored the world of experimental classical music, transforming scores by Xenakis, Stockhausen, Berio or Feldman into images at numerous festivals such as Holland Festival, Festival van Vlaanderen, November Music or HCMF. In addition to his creative work at Visual Kitchen, he was involved in the production of the Cimatics festival, which showcased the emerging AV and digital arts scene to the Brussels public. In 2008, Sam teamed up with American director Davis Freeman and his company Random Scream, and they've been working together regularly ever since. Born in the region of the former First World War battlefields and with a family history dating back to that time, he has worked on the Lichtfront and Woordfront commemorations and has developed personal projects exploring history as a research base for his photography.

Oh, and he can spin some tunes too...
