Zjos Vlaminck is a Belgian researchconsultant living in Chile.
From market-vendors in Ghana, to domestic workers in Peru, Zjos Vlaminck has investigated the representation-practices of marginalized groups and how international organizations can support them. Zjos practices grounded research, departing from the realities and perceptions of local actors but never loses sight of the bigger, global picture and structural inequalities.
Qualitative research methods are her forte and she has ample experience in comparative analysis and synthesis report-writing. Guiding an international research team is something Zjos enjoys but she also flourishes when working independently. Zjos believes, now more than ever, in action research which works towards transformational societal change. In this regard, the policy-research link is vital and translating, often complex, research findings into policy recommendations and news outlets for the wider public is something she findsexhilarating.
As a research consultant she has conducted studies commissioned by FNV Mondiaal, WSM, ILO, Amnesty International, HIVA KU LEUVEN and INCLUDE among others.
