Each episode begins with a question that children ask themselves about themselves and the world around them. Children share their experiences, whilst professors and researchers from Flemish universities explain complex topics in a child-friendly way. In addition, well-known actors such as Guga Baúl, Ahlaam Teghadouini, Karlijn Sileghem and Sebastien Dewaele bring colourful characters to life in imaginative audio stories.
“Wonderzoekers aims to take children’s curiosity seriously,” say Palmers and Pierlet. “Children often ask big philosophical questions. We wanted to create a series that explores those questions with as much playfulness as it does depth of content.”
In addition to the podcast series, the creators are also bringing a live version to the theatre. In the autumn of 2026, two episodes will be staged as a performance, featuring live music, soundscapes and theatre. This makes Wonderzoekers not just a listening experience, but also a fusion of podcast and performing arts.
