AKIAK - In the fight against global warming, the Arctic is one of the most important front lines. There, the earth is warming three times faster than average.

In the documentary Melting Land, journalist Jan De Deken travels for three weeks through Alaska to map and better understand the climate impact on people and nature. What are the so-called tipping points and feedback mechanisms that climate scientists talk about when they warn that melting permafrost and disappearing boreal forests also threaten Western Europe? What does the future hold? And what role does the oil industry play in Alaska?
